A team of researchers is using a Drone as a temporary 5G internet sharing network base station. It is to be deployed in situations when mobile network destruction and congestion can affect first responders, Search and rescue missions. All the researchers come from university of Glasgow, Surrey, Kingston and Malaya. This incredible technology has been developed through the Dare project “Distributed Autonomous and Resilient Emergency Management System” and had received previous funding of £1.2m from Engineering and physical sciences Research council’s Global research challenge fund
