In order to facilitate patient treatment, hospitals in Germany are now trying to add drone technology for patient medical sample delivery at nearby hospital labs. According to Medifly most German hospitals don’t have their own pathology labs. The tissue samples are being transported to external labs by road with ambulance vehicles. For the duration of the transport and the subsequent pathological analysis the surgery is suspended, with patients being kept in anaesthesia during that time. The surgery is continued when the pathological results are available. As result the medify project is being financed by the German Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure in partnership with Lufthansa Technik group,GLVI , FlyNex  and ZAL Zentrum für Angewandte Luftfahrtforschung .
