Dotterel Technologies develops shrouds to reduce noise generated by drone propellers, and microphones for aerial recording. Based in New Zealand, they provide their solutions primarily to government, security and entertainment customers from U.S. and Australia, with an aim to also address the emerging drone logistics market.
Dotterel’s unique noise reduction propulsion systems reduce turbulence and significantly enable noise reduction. It has also been shown that suppressing turbulence increases energy efficiency in the drones. Dotterel also develop aerial acoustic payloads, such as microphones for capturing audio from drone in real-time, enabling long range two-way audio communication with the drone.
